I am being told that I need to upgrade a component. Why is this?
Microsoft occasionally upgrades their encryption technology that protects our movies. The upgrade process is not as clear as it could be. If you receive a message saying you need to upgrade, please go to the following address and pay very close attention to the information in the "Troubleshooting" section: If you still have problems after doing this step and following the 'Troubleshooting' instructions on that page, please follow the step below to reset your DRM.

What is a premium movie?
Premium movies have been selected by their studio to be offered at a higher cost. Typically, this is because these movies cost more in other formats or are harder to find.
Premium movies will always show the "Premium Rate", or the amount of minutes which will be deducted for each minute you watch. For instance, a movie that uses "2.00 minutes per minute" will deduct 2 minutes from your account for every minute viewed of the movie. You will be able to see the breakdown in your viewing history.

What bitrates are your movies offered at?
Our movies are offered at four different bitrates (qualities):
- 24kbps: Lowest Quality (Dial-Up)
- 260kbps: Medium Quality
- 511kbps: High Quality
- 1028kbps: Super Quality

Why must I use Internet Explorer on Windows?
Because of limitations of Microsoft's Video Licensing (DRM) System, only Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers version 5.0 and higher running on Windows PCs are able to authenticate themselves to watch our PPM movies. Other browsers and operating systems ARE NOT currently supported.

Do I return my rented video after I am done watching it?
Once you have downloaded the file, it is active for the defined rental period. If your download was a purchase, you don't need to worry about this. If rented, and your rental period has expired, the file will stay on your hard drive inactive, it won't just go away; but you just won't be able to open it and play it back anymore. You don't have to upload it or anything like that, but feel free to delete it after your rental period has expired.

Will disconnecting from the Internet during download break the movie?
No, once you have downloaded part of the movie, it remembers where it left off. The next time you try to open it, it will resume download where it left off as long as you are connected to the Internet.

How do I resume download of a DivX movie I rented?
At any point during the download process, you can stop your video download. When you want to resume your download, all you need to do is re-open the video in the DivX Player and the player does the rest for you. It figures out where your download left off and continues downloading from that point.
